Our Church Ordinance

  • Baptism in Water – Baptism is an ordinance of Jesus Christ established for perpetual observance by his people. Every believer or regenerate person is under obligation to submit to this ordinance of Jesus Christ. Baptism is the immersion in water of the believer in the name of the Father, and the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The truths symbolized in baptism are the following; (1) remission of sins; (2) fellowship or union with Christ in his death and resurrection (The form of baptism strikingly symbolizes death, burial and resurrection.); (3) a complete self- surrender to the service of the kingdom of God and resolve to walk in newness of life. Baptism is a prerequisite to church fellowship and to participation in the Lord’s Supper. Immersion is essential to Christian baptism. Other forms destroy the meaning of the ordinance. Baptism in its simplest form is an outward expression of an inward commitment (Matt 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Acts 2:41-42).

  • The Lord’s Supper – The Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of Christ’s church wherein the elements are bread and wine (fruit of the vine). The bread symbolizes the body of Christ given for the salvation of humanity and he wine symbolizes his bloodshed for the remission of sins. The members of the church, by sacred us of bread and wine are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; proceeded always by solemn self-examination (Mark 14:22- 26; 1 Cor. 11:28).
